Our church’s name finds its origins in the experience of Saul, a man walking on the road to Damascus as recorded in the ninth chapter of Acts. Saul stepped onto the road hell-bent on finding and imprisoning Christians. With every zealous misguided step he unwittingly walked closer to a face-to-face encounter with the one true God he thought he was serving. Without warning, there appeared a light, a voice, and finally a name…Jesus. It was on this road that Saul the persecutor of Jesus became Paul the Apostle of Jesus. His meeting with Jesus transformed him, reborn and compelled to spend the rest of his life compelled to proclaim the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why we exist—to see others meet Jesus, experience transformation, and leave proclaiming the good news.
