A Vision:

Many years ago, the people of Church at Charlotte had a vision of starting a new church in South Charlotte and western Union County.  They desired to see a new community ‘stirred by God’s word, struggling well with life, and serving others.’ Many of these people were already living in the area, and all were aware of the growing number of newcomers who needed to experience the love of God.

A Leader:

Many individuals were pursued to take on the task of leading this effort.  Finally, in November of 2005, God stirred the heart of Scott Utesch, a seven year staff member at Church at Charlotte to pursue the role.  Scott moved to Charlotte from New York State as a teenager in the late 1970’s, encountered Christ at the age of 15, and often found himself working through his teenage angst peddling his bicycle among the rolling hills of Union County...now the site of Glenstone Chapel.  Through a series of circumstances, God made it clear to Scott and the leadership at Church at Charlotte that he was the man for the task.

An Opening Chapter:

God has added to the vision and the leader an amazing team of committed people.  They reflect a broad spectrum of gifts and together they are beginning to see Glenstone Chapel become a reality. God is writing His story of Glenstone Chapel.  However, this is just an opening chapter of the story.
